Appearing in ChatGPT is a checklist, not a mystery. If the model can crawl your site, parse your structure and find a clean answer, it will quote you. Five checks cover almost everything.
Allow ChatGPT's crawlers in robots.txt, publish answer-first pages with FAQ schema, list those pages in an llms.txt, and use your brand name in citable sentences.
Your robots.txt must allow OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), GPTBot (training), and ChatGPT-User (user-initiated browsing). Blocking any of them removes you from that surface.

Single H1, H2s phrased as buyer questions, one direct answer sentence under each H2.
FAQPage JSON-LD lets ChatGPT lift answers cleanly, with attribution.
An llms.txt at the root of your domain gives ChatGPT a curated index of your most quotable URLs.
Engines credit entities, not pronouns. Write the brand name into every sentence you want quoted.
